Shift Up currently supports the educational aspirations of students at Stoneleigh-Burnham School in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math).
Alumna and trustee, Lynn Schultz Kehoe has delivered motivational speeches and taken students for rides in her race car (obeying all traffic and speed laws). The girls were able to experience the exhilaration of being in a race car while gaining lessons about how important physics is in driving.
While still under development, plans for Shift Up educational platforms include:
Driving and Confidence Building Clinics for:
ACE – (Auto Care Experience) Car Handling Clinics and Car Knowledge Workshops for:
- College, university and technical school students
Shift Up offers a condensed version of our team-building program including the same confidence building skills through classroom, auto safety, and driving references. Life skills including emergency car maneuvers, basic auto maintenance, avoiding being taken advantage of at the auto shop or when buying a car will be taught. ACE will be open to participants with a valid driver’s license.

Arrive and Drive and Track Mentoring
Whether it’s your first day at the track or on track, or if you’re ready to get your competition license, or want to participate in sprint or endurance racing Shift Up will help women both at and on track. We start with providing an environment to welcome all women who have made their way to the track. If you need help replacing or repairing a part on your car or just want to sit in our RV to get out of the heat, cold or rain, you’ll be able to join us. We’ll have licensed mechanics available to assist or advise. We will offer a spot for you to learn about what goes on at the racetrack and let you know how to get started in auto sports yourself; join us and feel the sisterhood at Shift Up.
